Getting the note onto a matter

Open the matter page
Add a note under the matter, titled with date and who was present.

Capture or paste
Use Notion's meeting-notes feature or dictate straight into the page.

Edit it
Correct names, dates and legal terms; transcripts are not a record you can rely on unchecked.

Extract actions
Add each commitment to the Actions database with the matter relation, owner and date.

Link research
If the call raised a legal question, add it to the Research library.
Using the prompt pack
After you have a cleaned-up note, the AI prompt pack's prompts can help summarise it or draft a next-steps checklist. A lawyer reads and approves the result.
What MatterOS does not do
It does not record, transcribe, identify speakers or detect commitments by itself. A recording you make is also a record that may need to be kept, disclosed or deleted under your own rules; decide that before you start.

- No. Use Notion's own features or your device dictation and file the output to the matter.
- Is Notion AI Meeting Notes included with the template?
- No. It is a Notion feature with its own plan requirements; check Notion's current details.
- Do I need consent to record?
- Often yes, and the rules differ by jurisdiction. Check before recording.
- Should I keep the transcript?
- Decide under your firm's file-retention policy. A reviewed summary on the matter is usually the working record.
