Accessibility

Last updated June 10, 2026

We want MatterOS to be usable by every lawyer, including those who rely on assistive technology. We design toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and treat accessibility as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time audit.

1. What we do today

  • Semantic, keyboard-navigable interfaces built on accessible component primitives.
  • Visible focus states and meaningful labels on interactive controls.
  • Colour choices checked for contrast, with a light and dark theme.
  • Respect for the operating system's reduced-motion preference: animations are softened or removed when you ask your device to minimise motion.
  • Adjustable in-app text size for denser or larger reading.

2. Known limitations

MatterOS is evolving quickly, and some newer surfaces may not yet meet every Level AA criterion. Where we know of a gap, we prioritise a fix. If you hit a barrier we have not listed, please tell us — real reports from working lawyers are the fastest way we improve.

3. Tell us about a barrier

If any part of MatterOS is difficult to use with assistive technology, email support@thematteros.com. Describe the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you use, and we will work with you on a resolution and a timeline.
