This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies MatterOS uses, and how you control them. It forms part of our Privacy Notice.

1. Strictly necessary storage

To sign you in and keep the app working, we use essential browser storage (for example, your session, theme, and text-size preferences). These are required for the Service to function and are not used for tracking. They cannot be switched off through this policy.

2. Analytics — only with your consent

Analytics do not load until you accept. We do not set any analytics cookies, and the analytics scripts are never downloaded, until you choose “Accept” on our consent banner. Decline and nothing analytics-related runs.

When you consent, we may use:

Google Analytics 4 — aggregate, privacy-conscious usage measurement. We disable automatic page-view collection and never send your email to Google; only an opaque identifier is used.
PostHog (where enabled) — product analytics to understand which features help. Profiles are created for identified users only.

We use these solely to understand how MatterOS is used so we can improve it. We do not use them for advertising and we do not sell any data.

3. Manage your choice

You can change your decision at any time. Use the control below, or the “Cookie preferences” link in our footer, to reopen the banner and accept or decline.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings, though strictly necessary storage is needed for sign-in to work.
